NORIGIN MEDIA, A TV Everywhere Company, enables multi-screen and OTT services for network operators, broadcasters and content owners. The Scandinavian company (formerly part of Aspiro) offers a complete multi-screen application suite called the Hybrid Apps and a Live TV hosting headend capacity as primary products. Head-quartered in Oslo, the company has provided solutions for T-Mobile, France Telecom/ Orange, Nextel, Eurosport, TV2 Denmark, BBC, MTV, FOX and other reputable customers.

Operating Zabbix Monitoring system which works with embedded scripts and triggers for specific server applications, services and hardware
Operating Pingdom alert system for external and internal platform components
Hardware management using DRAC and OMSA
Operating ticketing and bug tracking systems: RT and Jira
Monitoring and managing applications for media ingestion, encoding and delivery: Vidiator (Xenon Platform – encoding, delivery and authorization), Thompson (encoding), AppearTV – satellite signal acquisition system
Incident management and troubleshooting for problems raised by monitoring systems, customers, internal personnel, partners, content providers and other service providers
Customer communication (ticketing system, email, phone). Internal escalation to second and third line support levels
Troubleshooting of Mobile TV and MAC-API mobile application related problems
Maintenance of the own generated live channels, source scheduling, EPG management, using CMS
Device database maintenance – add/remove/edit device entries to have proper service allocations based on device capabilities
Schedule maintenance works on the production systems, applying system and application upgrades and updates
Application testing to evaluate SW upgrades before putting in production

Hutchison Drei Austria GmbH is owned entirely by CK Hutchison Holdings Limited in Hong Kong and started in May 2003 with the brand “3” as the first sole UMTS-provider in Austria. Drei aims to make life easier for customers by providing access to the latest technology and the digital world. Drei believes that mobile communications are indispensable in everyday life and should be affordable for all Austrians. Voice telephony in HD-quality, mobile broadband internet and numerous multimedia-proposals like 3MobileTV are among the most attractive offerings of Drei.
The activities we covered
SmartSpot took over application support for the streaming platform that Drei Austria runs for its Mobile TV services in 2015.
Through this whole period we provided 1st, 2nd and 3rd level application support with a team of 4 people.
In addition to application support we provided also professional services to expand streaming services capabilities in order to support MPEG dash format for HTTP streaming.
